We vehemently oppose creating a false emergency on the border as a pretext to invoke the Insurrection Act.”\nA coalition of Indivisible and allied groups from Skagway, Alaska to Burlington, VT (to London, UK!) will line the longest undefended border in the world to stand in solidarity and friendship with our Canadian allies and neighbors.\nCanada is its own sovereign nation, and has long been one of America’s closest allies, repeatedly giving aid—from September 11th to the recent California fires, among countless examples. Canadians came to help. Canada deserves more than Donald Trump’s lies. Every day that these tariffs are in place, it will cost families, communities, and businesses on both sides of our long border. They will increase the cost of just about everything for all of us. Border communities benefit immensely from our partnerships with one another. We have each other’s backs. The damage done to the relationship and the economy of border communities is palpable. The trust violated, profound.\nWe will rally at Bufffalo’s Freedom Park on the American side of the Niagara River, and line up along the Bird Island Pier to wave to our Canadian friends in the Freedom Park in Fort Erie, Ontario.”\n\n\n\n\n\n
