Dear Members and Friends,
By the time you read this, the election process will be nearing its end. We may have already made our choice. We used our voice, and we voted or will vote in a few days. Now we wait to see what happens next.
With all the talk of protecting our democracy and all the work we of the League have done to get people registered and get out the vote, we can feel confident that we did our part. No matter what the results of this election are, we will continue to defend democracy and uphold social justice and humanity. We know that it is a continuous challenge to keep and increase life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Our local League has been everywhere these past few months talking to voters, registering citizens and promoting Proposition 1, the New York State ERA, from the Erie County Fair to the Music Is Art Festival to Canterbury Woods.
I hope you were able to check out all of our beautiful library displays. And a big thank you to all our GOTV volunteers.
SAVE THE DATE, Saturday, December 7, 2024, for our holiday party! Stay tuned, as we are still working on the details.
At our October board meeting the Communications Committee reported that we are moving ahead with our new website. Watch for our new look in January!
As always, please contact me at president@lwvbn.org with any questions, concerns or great ideas regarding our local program.
In League,
Lori Robinson
P.S.: Thank you for continuing to follow LWVBN on social media and sharing with your networks. This outreach provides our League with essential visibility and helps to spread the word about making democracy work!
