Buffalonians will be excited to hear that after more than 25 years, a Buffalo Charter Revision Commission has been sworn in to review the rules under which the city operates, and to make recommendations for changes. Recommended changes must be determined by August 2026 in order for them to be placed as a referendum in the November 2026 election.

The League of Women Voters encourages everyone to attend a public hearing or write to the Commission asking them to replace our current election methods for the City of Buffalo with Ranked Choice Voting, and to place it on the ballot as a referendum in November 2026.
