The League, Buffalo Parent Teachers Organization and several other not-for-profit organizations hosted a Buffalo School Board forum at the Central Library on October 10. All six candidates were there and shared their views with about 100 attendees. Ben Tsujimoto of The Buffalo News moderated; Timothy Priano was question screener; and Janet Goodsell was timekeeper.
On October 17, the League hosted a candidate forum in partnership with the Amherst Center for Senior Services. We had only one race, New York Assembly District 146. Michael Keane, Tim Kennedy and Sean Ryan had other commitments. We heard nothing from two of the Republican Party candidates, James Gardner and Anthony Marecki. Judy Weidemann moderated; Judy Huber was timekeeper; Cindy Havey was an usher; Lori Robinson was the videographer, and Terri Parks was the question screener.
