League and Buffalo State Students Volunteer at Music Is Art Festival

September 21, 2024

On Saturday, September 21, the League tabled at the Music Is Art Festival. Nearly 40 volunteers, including 20 students from Buffalo State University, worked the all-day festival at Buffalo Outer Harbor which featured live music on more than 15 stages. Armed with our new League vests and voter information, the volunteers encouraged festival-goers to check their voter registration and register if they hadn’t already. We also made sure people were aware of Proposition 1 – the New York State Equal Rights Amendment that’s on this year’s ballot. Most were not, so it was a fantastic opportunity to help inform the electorate.

The vests contributed greatly to our visibility with many cheering us on as we walked by or stopping by the table to thank us for our efforts. It feels good to be seen! Buffalo State University students Paige Whyte and Alana Jacowitz are shown in this photo as they worked that day!
