The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, established in 2016, is a national, nonpartisan initiative of Civic Nation that empowers colleges and universities to achieve excellence in nonpartisan student democratic engagement. More than 1,000 colleges and universities participate in ALL IN across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, enrolling more than 10 million students.

Each year, the national ALL IN selects recipients for the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge’s Standout Local Partner Award. This award is presented in recognition of incredible local leadership in helping campuses and their students advance nonpartisan voter registration, education, and participation for the 2024 election. Recipients are nominated by campus faculty and/or administrators for their great work at the local level.

We are proud to announce that Cindy Havey and LWVBN are recipients of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge’s 2025 Standout Local Partner Awards!

Cindy Havey shared that she has been the Buffalo State University campus liaison for the past three years. With the help of League volunteers and students, she worked with the Office of Community and Civic Engagement to increase voter registration. This was achieved not only by more frequent tabling, but by using League resources to connect Buffalo State with other SUNY campuses to share registration strategies, including voter registration during orientation. By understanding New York State election law and the importance of students registering to vote using their campus addresses, Buffalo State was granted a polling site on campus just in time for the 2024 presidential election.
