Dear Members and Friends,
First and foremost: Take care of yourself!
This is a difficult time we find ourselves in. So many issues that need to be addressed and stood up to. The good news is that there are LOTS of people that feel the same and are doing something. Many groups have formed to push back against the dismantling of our beloved democracy. Be encouraged to work with them when and where you can.
If each of us does whatever we can – send letters, make phone calls or get out on the street – we will be heard and we will make a difference!
And the League of Women (Wise) Voters is alive and well and ready to continue what we have been doing for 105 years: Making Democracy Work!
It is also time again for our annual meeting, so please review the materials in the “Call to Annual Meeting” packet. We have bylaws and budget and new board members to vote on. We are holding the meeting and luncheon at the lovely Tewksbury Lodge on the Buffalo River. I know the weather will be perfect on June 7!
This issue of the VOTER is filled with what we have been up to and upcoming activities. We always love new volunteers (and of course we love the hard-working volunteers currently making things happen). Please check out our new website and CLICK TO VOLUNTEER at https://lwvbn.org/volunteer-opportunities/. This new process will give us the information needed to let you know what is happening next and get you involved where you prefer.
As always, please contact me at president@LWVBN.org with any questions, concerns, or great ideas regarding our local program.
In League,
Lori Robinson, LWVBN President
P.S.: Thank you for continuing to follow LWVBN on social media and sharing our posts with your networks. This outreach provides our League with essential visibility, and helps to spread the word about making democracy work!
